Day 3: Protect the Time
The 5-Day “Make Space for Your Writing” challenge continues today!
We’ve been building toward this.
On Day 1, you noticed where your time is going. On Day 2, you created a space—physically or spiritually—that invites you to write.
But here’s where many of us get stuck:
Even with the best intentions, distractions creep in.
We tell ourselves, “I’ll write later”—but later never comes.
Today is about guarding your writing time, lovingly but firmly. Not because it’s “productive,” but because it’s sacred.
Your Writing Time Is Worth Protecting
Think about it this way: if you scheduled coffee with a friend, you wouldn’t blow it off at the last second. You’d show up.
Your writing time deserves the same respect, because in showing up to write, you’re also showing up for God, and for the people who need your words.
This isn’t about guilt or hustle. It’s about honoring what you’ve been called to create.
🕯️ Before You Begin, Pray:
Lord, you’ve given me a call to create—and I want to honor it.
Help me to guard my time gently but firmly.
Protect this space from distractions, fears, and excuses.
And when I sit down to write, help me to meet you there.
Amen.
